Hoyt Mountain just got tagged with our sign - what a beautiful hike! We had clouds and fog in the morning on the drive to the trailhead and the sun came through as we hit the trail. The hike offers beautiful views over neighboring peaks and the Angeles Crest Highway. The final part is a steep scramble to the Peak of Hoyt Mountain - but we were able to place our sign on the final Peak We really enjoyed the hike!
The sign for Hoyt Mountain captures the story of Silos Hoyt, the farmer that used to have his farm close to the Mountain. We captured his farm on the sign. We also indicated the false peaks you will encounter as you hike this mountain.
